This month, we can look forward to renowned Argentine chef Francis Mallmann’s visit, as he will headline The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts’ inaugural World’s Best Chef Series. This is a series of food events where guests are invited to partake in unique dining experiences hosted by the world’s top chefs.

Gourmands will surely be familiar with the Patagonian-based chef, who captivated the world with his great respect for nature’s bounty and precise Patagonian-style of pit cooking techniques. “All my restaurants around the world are ruled by fire. We have domes, wood ovens and grills, and we cook ingredients in ashes as well as under the earth with very hot stones,” explains Mallmann.

While these techniques may sound simple, Mallmann elaborates that it takes a long time to master this craft. “It’s a language you learn by standing in front of it—using your hands, your sense of smell and taste, even the sound of the fire—to make all the decisions needed to present a good recipe.” In fact, he was even featured on Netflix’s popular food series, Chef’s Table, which explored his life journey as well as his captivating cooking techniques.

For his series of dinner events—which takes place at The Clifford Pier from May 22 to 26, 29 and 30, 2022—Mallmann will whip up his signatures over a specially constructed dome at the restaurant’s al fresco area. Hefty meats, fish and potatoes will be cooked over fire to draw out their natural flavours and give them a smoky and aromatic finish.

With this upcoming food event, The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts country general manager Gino Tan shares that they are excited to have such a distinguished chef create an unforgettable dining experience. He adds: “Through this gastronomic celebration, we also hope to heighten Singapore’s positioning on the global map, as a dynamic destination with a vibrant dining scene.”

The Fullerton World’s Best Chefs: Francis Mallmann’s dinner series will take place at The Clifford Pier, The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore, from May 22 to 26, 29 and 30, 2022. Parties of five will receive a complimentary bottle of Ruinart  Champagne. Book your seats here.
