A savoury heritage brunch featuring exquisite dim sum classics alongside local dishes

The Clifford Pier—once the landing point for early immigrants to Singapore—remains one of the best places in town for a leisurely weekend brunch with a view. Its Heritage Dim Sum Brunch—an ode to the hawkers who plied their trade here at the pier—features contemporary reinterpretations of local favourites. To start, order the satisfying Heritage Delight Platter of beef and chicken satay, chilli crab bao and Nyonya popiah, with Korean-style spicy chicken wings and breaded shrimp with caviar mayonnaise. The tiger prawn laksa with bean sprouts, fish cake and quail egg deserves special mention for its hearty and lemak (or creamy) gravy. But the winner has got to be the roti prata, crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and goes well with the fish curry that is slightly spicy; enough for you to go for a second, or third, helping.
