With a cake-display overflowing with over 20 different varieties of tea-cakes, Plump by Tao Bakes Cakes has quickly become a haunt for regulars looking to enjoy a well-baked sweet treat alongside a cup of coffee. Pistachios shine in this Persian-inspired pistachio, lemon and rose cake with yogurt and figs, which was Tao’s first creation after deciding to pursue his baking career full-time. With a preference for dense, nut-rich cakes over their spongier counterparts, Tao’s pistachio-based cake is soaked with lemon and rose syrup before being piled with locally-grown figs atop a zesty yogurt topping.
