Bōl
This beautifully designed restaurant serves modern and eclectic Asian cuisine, reimagining familiar dishes with Asian ingredients. Think prawn and crab cakes that you dip in tartar sauce with a coconut milk base as well as lamb shank served with buah keluak sauce. Dining here is also a feast for the eyes. The wallpaper print, for instance, was specifically chosen to match the botanical origins of Peranakan food.

Bocado

Benefiting from the expertise of chef Ignasi Prats and the might of a Josper grill, Bocado is a Mediterranean-influenced steakhouse that also has an impressive tapas menu. Still, the key attractions are the flame-grilled meats from the Wagyu Ribeye Tartare with quail egg to the Grilled Atlantic Octopus. Carb lovers will find the paella hearty and satisfying.

Aburii

An exciting addition to the burgeoning dining scene in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Aburii specialises in yakiniku and sushi. On weekdays, it's only open for dinner but on weekends, it welcomes diners for lunch with a menu that includes decadent Misuji Foie Gras Don, a rice bowl topped with generous servings of thinly sliced beef, foie gras, ikura and egg yolk. Other highlights include Aburii Wagyu Uni Bomb, Charcoal Spicy Fried Chicken and Foie Gras Unagi Tempura.

Another new addition to the Taman Tun is also a Japanese joint. Tsubaki Omakase is a cosy spot to enjoy an omakase meal, with the menu changing on a daily basis to accommodate seasonal ingredients. There are two tasting menus for lunch and four for dinner.

Kwong Wah Ais Kacang

Kwong Wah Ais Kacang, the famous neighbourhood cendol stall in PJ's Section 17, is expanding—all the way across town in Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Opening in July, it has been serving the beloved local dessert using the same family recipe since 1939, a tradition it plans to uphold in the new locale.
