The Assistant (2022)

Directed by Adrian Teh, The Assistant follows the story of ex-convict Zafik (played by Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin) who, after losing his family during his incarceration, seeks revenge on those who wronged him with the help of an unhinged assistant, Feroz (Hairul Azreen).

Showtime 1958 (2020)

Actor Amai Kamarudin transforms into Malaysian musical icon P. Ramlee in this heartfelt film inspired by true events. The movie explores the story behind P. Ramlee and Jamil Sulong's famous song Selamat Hari Raya as the two organise a variety show to raise funds for performers who lost their jobs just before Hari Raya.

Kill-Fist (2019)

Struggling with a dead-end job, caring for his ill father, and on the brink of losing custody of his daughter, Zhang is suddenly forced to confront his violent past when he signs up for an underground fighting game to ease his financial woes. Directed by arthouse auteur James Lee, it stars Sunny Pang, Pearlly Chua and Alan Yun.

Prebet Sapu (2020)

Starring Amerul Affendi and Bront Palarae, Prebet Sapu depicts the tale of Aman who starts an illegal taxi service to make a living after the death of his father. As he attempts to understand city life in Kuala Lumpur, he forms an unexpected bond with a young escort (played by Malaysian actress Mei Fen Lim).

Ceroboh (2022)

Catch this post-apocalyptic thriller featuring six survivors who hide out in an abandoned building after mind-controlling creatures invade earth. When one of the six gets exposed to the invaders, paranoia sets in.

Talentime (2009)

This Yasmin Ahmad classic follows an interracial romance between a Malay-mixed pianist and an Indian guitarist who find themselves partnered for a talent show organised by their teacher, Cikgu Adibah (played the late and great Adibah Noor).
