Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and more great spaces for the best Raya decor in 2022

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

This year marks the first collaboration between Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and the Embassy of Iran in a cross-cultural Hari Raya showcase themed Eid In Harmony.

From now till May 16, the Centre Court of Pavilion KL will be abuzz with elaborate decorations, festive snack booths, handicrafts displays and unique activities that include a live Persian carpet weaving demonstration, copper enamelling workshops and more in celebration of Malaysian and Iranian culture.

Pavilion Bukit Jalil

Beloved Malaysian cartoon characters Upin and Ipin come to life at Pavilion Bukit Jalil's Raya Bersama celebrations, from now till May 8. There will also be a special Artists & Designers Marketplace to showcase the best of local brands and designers, from Raya fashion and snacks to gift ideas and rustic decor.

Intermark Mall

Intermark Mall's Meriah Raya campaign takes inspiration from traditional Malaysian art and games, from batu seremban and congkak to wayang kulit and more. Adding to this nostalgia is the mall's festive Raya decor complete with batik, flowers and more Instagram-worthy elements.

From now till May 8, various festive activities will be available at the mall including a chance to experience shadow puppetry first-hand and direct your own wayang kulit performance. Intermark Mall will also host workshops in collaboration with Karyaneka and Wak Long Music & Art Centre on creating shadow puppets, batik and more crafty activities from April 16-30.

Suria KLCC

We can almost hear the familiar chorus of Sudirman's Balik Kampung just by looking at the concourse level of Suria KLCC transformed into a nostalgic display fondly dubbed Atok's Orchard. This same joyous theme continues out to the Esplanade KLCC, where the nation's biggest lampu pelita replica stands at 17m tall and 12m wide.

The Gardens Mall

Hari Raya at The Gardens Mall this year is about tropical chic, with a focus on palm leaves, rustic bamboo furniture, glass lamps and more stylish fixtures. In addition to special performances throughout April and May 2022, The Gardens Mall is also running an Instagram contest which offers special gift vouchers to the best Raya OOTD Instagram post taken with the mall's festive decor in the background. 1 Utama Shopping Centre

Have you seen the spectacular Minangkabau Village setup at 1 Utama Shopping Centre's LG Oval? There are plenty of spots for shoppers to snap photos and shop for snacks and gifts while enjoying festive performances as part of the mall's Setulus Pertemuan, Semurni Ikatan campaign from now till May 8.   

IPC Shopping Centre

IPC Shopping Centre's JumpaVerse combines the influences of tech, online shopping and nature into one colourful showcase for shoppers to get their Raya shopping done in style from now till May 15.

Available from now till May 16, 2022, Fahrenheit88's Raya Melodies showcase is all about celebrating the musical heritage and legacy of the late and great Tan Sri P. Ramlee and Puan Sri Saloma. Fahrenheit88 has partnered with Arkib Negara for a nostalgic exhibition on Level 2, entitled P. Ramlee dan Saloma Exhibition–Aku, Dia dan Lagu.

There will also be a Raya craft market at the ground atrium where shoppers will have a chance to try out a traditional congkak game, create their own wire keychains, batik-colouring activities and more.

Da Men USJ

Da Men USJ is bringing back the nostalgia of the '90s with its Bestnya Raya! festive display. From now till May 31, shoppers will enjoy signature Raya delicacies, batik fashion, accessories, furnishings and even electronics amidst retro vibes.

You can also grab Raya essentials such as trendy baju melayu, traditional batik, handmade bags, cookies and hampers at the Bestnya Raya! Bazaar.

Bonus: Ketupat Wonderland at KSK Land

Colourfully evocative of a Hari Raya staple, ketupat, KSK Land's Ketupat Wonderland is open to the public at Bangunan KSK on Jalan Yap Ah Shak daily from 9am to 10pm from now till May 31, 2022. The Instagram-friendly space is also laden with hidden QR codes and other interactive elements that will introduce visitors to the Malaysian stories that shaped this festive installation.
