This year, Malaysian fashion designers step up their game to match our excitement about the return of Raya festivities, unhindered by strict travel and social gathering restrictions for the first time in two years. Their latest collections present a wealth of options for every Malaysian woman.

For instance, Khoon Hooi and Poya take traditional elements, such as majestic kebaya silhouettes and delicate fabrics, to create majestic pieces while Alia Bastamam and Larney channel modern, minimalist sophistication with intricate pleating and chic tailoring. 

Meanwhile, Innai Red and slow fashion brand Zora exude gentle femininity in their respective collections, one a pastel floral fantasy come to life and another a capsule collection featuring romantic puffy sleeves and subtle floral jacquard. 

There is also a collaborative spirit among the fashion community this year. Two notable partnerships are Perempuan Lawan Art x Tangsi and Rico Rinaldi x Mis Claire. The former pairing between talented Johorean artist, Finn Anuar, and the up-and-coming brand births a gorgeous selection of garments featuring symbols of Malaysian unity, such as wau bulan and gongs. The latter offers an accessible collection for the stylish plus size woman.
