1. Bakunawa Costume
Gomez's mesmerising national costume was a delightful visual treat reserved not only for her fellow Filipinos. The golden attire, which was designed by Cebuano fashion designer Axel Que, combined with the bejewelled headpiece and intricate accessories by Manny Halasan, were inspired by the Bakunawa.
In Philippine folklore, the Bakunawa is a serpent-like dragon believed to devour the moon, causing earthquakes, eclipses, winds, and rains.
“The golden lunar dragon seen here is the bakunawa’s final form and a metaphor for this contestant’s personal evolution. The mystery solved, this dragon has evolved!” the announcer said as Gomez walked in her national costume.
2. Explaining her tattoo
Besides her strong and gorgeous facial features, Gomez's right arm tattoo is also one of her signature looks.
During the announcement of the Top 16, pageant host Steve Harvey asked Gomez about her tattoo. “You have a tattoo with a special meaning. Tell us about it,” asked Harvey.
“So we're talking about this the one that I wear on my sleeve, it actually means of rebirth and a new beginning,” Gomez explained with confidence. “So this is a cherry blossom. I got it on my 23rd birthday, and I got it to celebrate my womanhood. Thank you."

3. Queen in a track suit
Upon her arrival in Israel, Gomez experienced a brief luggage mishap after one of her suitcases went missing. The incident was revealed by Miss Universe Philippines communications director Voltaire Tayag in a now-deleted Instagram post.
Tayag's post was meant to respond to the negative feedback from netizens who questioned why Gomez only wore a black tracksuit in her photo with Miss Thailand Anchilee Scott-Kemmis. "When she (Gomez) collected them at the Ben Gurion airport, all were accounted for. But when she got to Jerusalem, one suitcase was missing and not taken to her room," the officer explained.
Regardless of the unfortunate situation, Gomez still looked beautiful and confident in her tracksuit. The beauty queen's bag was also returned safely.

4. Fiery long gown
The stage was on fire when Gomez walked in her stunning, fiery red gown during the evening gown competition.
“Luigi’s fire from within is in full effect,” the Miss Universe Philippines organisation said in an Instagram post, sharing photos of the beauty queen in the asymmetrically-cut red dress by celebrated Filipino fashion designer Francis Libiran. “More than any colour, red is loaded for action,” they added.
