Partnering with The Hour Glass, the GPHG exhibition will showcase a spectacular selection of 84 watches at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from October 5 - 8, 2023

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève Awards (GPHG) is regarded as the highest official honour in the watchmaking industry. Held annually, it recognises and rewards the most remarkable contemporary creations of the year. Past winners have included Malaysian luxury watch brand, Ming, which won the Horological Revelation prize for an outstanding brand that is less than 10 years old in 2019. Last year, MB&F won the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix or Best in Show prize for its Legacy Machine Sequential Evo.

GPHG, together with The Hour Glass, will be bringing 84 nominated timepieces from 14 categories to Kuala Lumpur at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Centre Court from October 5 - 8, 2023. Kuala Lumpur is the only stop in Southeast Asia for the exhibition, following Macau and Hong Kong. The awards ceremony will be held in Geneva on November 9, 2023.

“Being a part of this distinctive global platform that honors horological design and craftsmanship is a great privilege,” said Michael Tay, group managing director of The Hour Glass. “We’re pleased that Kuala Lumpur was selected as one of the few stops for this traveling exhibition in recognition of its status as a watch hub and mature market for independent artisanal watch enthusiasts. This aligns with our mission to advance watch culture by offering our community of collectors access to some of the most extraordinary watches of our generation.”

The exhibition will also feature a watch photography workshop, a DIY mechanical clock workshop, and a colouring session with Hublot for children.

“The Hour Glass has consistently displayed its expertise and discernment in this area, and we’re proud to once again have them join us as a partner and sit on the jury for the 2023 awards,” said Raymond Loretan, president of the GPHG Foundation.
