To be held from August 6-14 at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur with The Hour Glass, the exhibition puts the spotlight on the Explorer watches and the extreme adventures they have endured and survived
Rolex is finally bringing its highly anticipated 'A Watch Born to Explore' exhibition to Kuala Lumpur, showcasing its extraordinary story as a reliable watch companion for explorers—be it urban or extreme—everywhere. Originally scheduled to be held in 2020, it was postponed due to the Covid pandemic. It's partnering with leading luxury watch retailer The Hour Glass on this exhibition.

The Oyster Perpetual Explorer and Explorer II will be the key highlights; both watches have been the instruments of choice for explorers to tell time in extreme conditions.
While Rolex has been equipping explorers with Oyster Perpetual watches on their adventures since the 1930s, it was in 1953 that it created the Explorer, a watch with legitimate adventurer credentials since it's based on feedback from an Everest expedition led by Sir John Hunt.
The Explorer II was launched in 1971, and is differentiated from its predecessor with a 24-hour bezel that is indicated by an orange hand on the dial.
