Rolex has always maintained close ties with the world of cinema. Its watches have played their own role on the wrists of iconic characters in numerous films, including multiple Oscar-winning works

Rolex has always been known as a brand that encourages the preservation and transmission of the cinematic arts. Through the years, its support has been evident through well-known characters whose wrists were wrapped by intricately-designed timepieces.

Last November 19, the luxury brand showed its support for cinema once more as it sponsored the prestigious Governor Awards that recognise great names in the movie industry. As such, the awards capture the spirit of the partnership between Rolex and cinema by rewarding individuals with long careers, who have shown constant dedication to their artistic visions and have enduring bodies of work. They celebrate outstanding humanitarian efforts and recognize contributions to the art of filmmaking.
