Come up close and personal with Patek Philippe’s most extraordinary time instruments
For a watch connoisseur, the name Patek Philippe, the last independent family-owned Swiss manufacture, is coveted and greatly admired. And if you’re a fan too, this news will come as a real treat: Cortina Watch will be exhibiting four rare Dome Clocks in Kuala Lumpur this month.
Titled “Once Upon a Virtuosity” and running from October 10–23 at Patek Philippe’s Suria KLCC boutique, the exhibition is a showcase of the watchmaker’s unparalleled savoir faire in watchmaking and artisanal craftsmanship, from engraving to gem-setting and enamelling.
This exhibition is also held in celebration of the long and enduring partnership between Patek Philippe and Cortina Watch. Cortina became the official dealer of Patek Philippe in 1978, although Cortina’s founder Anthony Lim has had a friendship with the Stern family since the ’60s.
Over the years, their partnership has only strengthened with the opening of standalone Patek Philippe boutiques across the region from Singapore to Taipei. Cortina currently manages two Patek Philippe boutiques in Kuala Lumpur, one in Suria KLCC and one in JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, which also boasts a Patek Philippe clock on its façade, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.
The key highlights of the exhibition are four Patek Philippe Dome Table Clocks acquired by Cortina Watch through the years. Each is a unique creation featuring an array of crafts. Each is also a fine work of art, a precious object meant to be treasured for generations to come.
