Across two intimate sessions, guests discovered how Piaget Polo watches and Possession jewellery can move effortlessly from relaxed everyday dressing to sharp tailoring and evening glamour

What makes a good watch? Technical excellence matters, of course, as do design, craftsmanship and provenance. But for a watch to become one you genuinely reach for, it also has to work with the life you lead—and the clothes you actually wear.

That idea was at the heart of an intimate styling event hosted by Tatler Singapore and Piaget at the Aman Singapore Lounge. Comprising two sessions—one in the afternoon and another in the evening—the gathering brought together guests for product discovery, a live styling presentation and one-to-one private viewings.

To welcome guests, Piaget’s managing director for Southeast Asia and Oceania Emmanuelle Kouakou said a few words before the styling session began. Led by Tatler Singapore’s watches and jewellery editor Annabel Tan, the styling presentation explored three distinct expressions of the Piaget Polo, each paired with a different wardrobe and pieces from the Piaget’s Possession jewellery collection. The model's looks, all styled with pieces from Chloé, reinforced the session's central premise: a good watch should not require you to build a wardrobe around it. Rather, it should adapt naturally to the way you already dress and live.

The first look centred on the 36mm Piaget Polo Signature Date, a steel watch set with 60 brilliant-cut diamonds on the case and a further 35 diamonds marking the hours. Paired with a cream Chloé ruffled blouse and wide-leg denim, the watch’s beige rubber strap brought an easy, contemporary quality to the diamonds—proof that precious stones need not be reserved for evening.

Possession earrings echoed the sparkle of the watch, while a stack of rings drew attention towards the hand and wrist. The watch also provided a practical demonstration of versatility; its interchangeable straps allowing guests to see how a simple strap change can alter a watch’s personality. Powered by Piaget’s automatic 500P1 manufacture movement, it balanced mechanical substance with a relaxed approach to everyday wear.

From there, the mood turned sharper. The 42mm Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin was styled with a checked Chloé blazer and clean separates, its steel case and blue dial providing a cool, confident counterpoint to the tailoring. At its heart is Piaget’s ultra-thin automatic 1255P manufacture movement, which powers the perpetual calendar and moon phase display.

Despite its technical complexity and larger proportions, the watch retains a remarkably slim profile, allowing it to sit comfortably on the wrist and beneath a jacket cuff. The jewellery played a balancing role: an adjustable long Possession pendant softened the structure of the tailoring while drawing the eye vertically to help elongate the neckline. Its movable design also allowed the length to be altered for different necklines and looks—another expression of the versatility running through the session.

The final look moved into evening territory with the 36mm Piaget Polo Date in 18-karat rose gold, set with diamonds and distinguished by a blue quartz ornamental-stone dial. As a natural material, each dial possesses its own variations in colour and pattern, giving every watch an individual character. Against a black Chloé evening gown, the warmth of the rose gold and vivid blue dial came sharply into focus.

Here, a colourful Possession pendant created a visual dialogue with the dial, while rose-gold jewellery carried the warmth of the case through the rest of the look. The watch is delivered on a matching rose-gold bracelet with a secondary burgundy alligator strap, offering yet another way to shift its mood. Like the Signature Date, it is powered by Piaget’s automatic 500P1 manufacture movement.

Beyond the three hero looks, guests also discovered further Piaget creations, including watches from the Limelight Gala and Sixtie collections, before exploring the pieces more closely during private viewings with the Piaget team.
