Breguet’s Classique Souscription 2025 won the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix, the highest honour at Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG)

Congratulations on the big win at GPHG 2025. What was your first reaction when you heard Breguet's name announced as the winner?
It was a moment full of emotions. My thoughts went straight to all our teams—nothing would have been possible without them. Receiving the Aiguille d’Or is not just an award for a single timepiece; we see it as a recognition of our entire year of celebrations.

How did the team feel when you brought the trophy back?
Proud, immensely proud! This award belongs to every single person who is part of our brand, because they are the true essence of Breguet. That’s why we placed the trophy in our lounge at the entrance of the manufacture so everyone can see it.

What is it about the Classique Souscription 2025 that sets it apart from the competition this year?
Without the Souscription pocket watch, Breguet would not be what it is today. It was launched during a challenging period for our founder, just after the French Revolution. This timepiece embodies an everlasting, pure, and refined design.

The 2025 model is also the first pocket watch we have ever completely transformed into a wristwatch, both mechanically and aesthetically. And even if many will say it is a simple piece, it is actually filled with intricate details. For example, the hand is crafted entirely by hand, one by one, and even the blueing—just like the secret signature—is done using an antique pantograph dating back to the time of A.L. Breguet.

As Breguet marks its 250th anniversary this year, how does this GPHG triumph play into the milestone?
The timing could not be more meaningful. This recognition stands as a symbolic affirmation of what Breguet has embodied for over 250 years. It elevates the anniversary beyond a simple commemoration—it becomes a testament to our contribution to haute horlogerie.

Winning a prestigious prize often raises expectations. What are the next strategic goals you are setting for Breguet? And how will you ensure the momentum of this win is sustained beyond the anniversary year?
Our focus now is on deepening our identity while accelerating our innovation. Strategically, we are investing in high-complication development, strengthening our presence in key global markets, and enriching the client experience both in-boutique and digitally. Sustaining momentum means remaining consistent—continuing to introduce creations that surprise, elevate, and stay true to Breguet’s values. This win is a catalyst, not a culmination.

How do you plan to balance respect for the past with the imperative to refresh the brand for newer generations and global markets?
Breguet’s strength comes from its heritage, but heritage alone isn’t enough. We are dedicated to bringing our rich history into the present—through our designs, our storytelling, and experiences that speak to today’s collectors and tomorrow’s enthusiasts. For us, this balance comes naturally: we innovate with the same spirit that made Breguet a pioneer in his time.
