The most memorable creations by Malaysian designers at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2022
Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week was highly-anticipated this year with a calendar filled with Malaysia's most talented local designers. Established designers, such as Alia Bastamam and Rizman Ruzaini, did not disappoint as they continued to infuse interesting new concepts and experiment with modern silhouettes to elevate their signature styles.
Emerging designers also stole the show. Dickson Lim, who came onto the scene as the youngest designer to debut at KLFW in 2020, presented an incredible third collection of unconventional, forward-thinking designs, contributing to the welcome revival of tailored suits in Malaysia.

A special mention goes to Maarimaia's collection inspired by French artist Claude Monet's most iconic impressionist paintings. Founder and creative director May Tan incorporates the artist's motifs such as floral landscapes and muted watercolour palette into her creations. She also pays tribute to his paintings, The Water Pond (1899) and Water Lilies (1919), with oversized, elegant headgear in the shape of lily pads.
