This week’s best dressed women had one thing in common: an understanding of colour theory.

Their expertise translated into laid-back looks that incorporated neutral hues, and, on the other side of the spectrum, electric ensembles that popped on our Instagram timelines.

Style guru Chriselle Lim, for example, celebrated her birthday wearing a Fallon crystal heart choker and an equally shiny cut-out gown from The Sei.

The colour blue also popped up on Filipino actress and philanthropist Heart Evangelista, who sported a jacquard blazer and matching trousers from the sold-out Iris Apfel x H&M collaboration.

While she could have kept her outfit monochrome—both her earrings and Dolce & Gabbana Bellucci pumps were blue—she instead chose an accessory in a complementary colour: her hand-painted, bright orange Hermes Birkin handbag.

Pink proved to be another popular colour this week. We’re obsessed with how Singapore style star Jamie Wu matched her Staud half and half ribbed knit dress with a mini Louis Vuitton trunk bag.

Across the globe, American actress Mindy Kaling also opted for a fun accessory to go with her Ganni sweater dress: Sophia Webster’s crystal-embellished Phoenix heels.

But nobody did pink quite like Taiwanese fashion star Tiffany Hsu, who paired her Jacquemus linen La Veste Sauge blazer and shorts with hot pink Versace monogram tights and Medusa Aevitas platform pumps—the same shoes that were worn by Nicola Peltz at her fairytale wedding.

Malaysian influencer Christinna Kuan showed us that you don’t need highlighter hues to stand out. Her recent airport look was both comfy and chic, comprising a black embroidered Loewe sweater, a Celine Triomphe belt, and a pair of brown pants.

The versatility of a neutral colour palette was also explored by Hong Kong stylist Tina Leung, who showed off a trench coat, a beige dress, white braided sandals and the 8 Knot Basket Bag, all from Lafayette 148.

Back home, Salina Chai recreated Katie Holmes’ viral cashmere cardigan and bra moment with a similarly cosy set from Spanish label Cordera and a Prada Cleo handbag.

And, proving that brown doesn’t have to be boring, Tatler friend Nina Kaginda got glammed up in a daring leopard-print jacquard jacket and matching knee-high boots, both from Dolce & Gabbana.
