The city’s best-dressed gathered at Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur for an evening of standout style, sparkling jewels and the Tatler Most Stylish 2026 awards

“This is probably the most stylish room in Kuala Lumpur right now.” As Tatler Malaysia’s Managing Director Gerrie Beh put it, and she’s not wrong.

On September 18, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur played host to some of the city’s most stylish names for Tatler Most Stylish 2026. With cocktails and canapés setting the tone for the evening, guests arrived in their own interpretations of the dress code, turning the room into a showcase of personal style before dinner had even begun.

Among the evening’s honourees were names including Nickson Auyong, Lisha Ho, Syomir Izwa, Ummi Nazeera, Zaireen Ibrahim, Dickson Lim, Audi Budiman, Istasia Sew and Rishita Valiram, each with their own distinct approach to getting dressed. From sharp tailoring and structured silhouettes to statement pieces and playful accessories, there was no single formula for the night’s style.

As guests settled in for dinner, opening remarks kicked off the evening before the first course was served. Familiar faces caught up over dinner, while guests took in the different looks around the room.

After the main course, attention turned to Tatler Most Stylish with a video looking at the people and personalities behind the platform. This year marks a new chapter, with Asia’s Most Stylish becoming Tatler Most Stylish, putting more focus on what makes someone’s style their own, from the people and places that influence them to the way they choose to express themselves through what they wear.

For Malaysia, that idea comes through in this year’s theme, Modern Nostalgia, which looks at how the past continues to shape the way we dress today. Think old references, familiar influences and pieces that still feel relevant, just worn in a way that feels distinctly now.

Then came the main event: the Tatler Most Stylish 2026 awards. With Gerrie Beh taking to the stage to present the awards, the attention shifted to the people who had brought the room to life in the first place. This year’s honourees included Syomir Izwa, Nickson Auyong, Rishita Valiram and Dickson Lim, among others, each known for putting their own spin on style rather than following a single formula.

And that was perhaps the best part of the evening. There is no one way to look stylish, with each honouree bringing something different to the table, whether through the way they dress, the designers they champion or simply the way they carry a look.

As part of the evening, each honouree also took home a Royal Selangor award frame featuring their Tatler Most Stylish cover, a keepsake to mark their place in this year’s celebration.

And, of course, there was plenty of jewellery to admire throughout the evening. Chopard added a touch of sparkle to the room, with guests wearing pieces from the Maison, including its signature Happy Diamonds creations. Paired with the evening’s standout looks, the jewels had their own moment as guests moved from dinner to drinks and conversations.

With the awards wrapped, the evening eased back into dinner as dessert was served and guests settled in for the final stretch of the night. After one last round of conversations and outfit appreciation, guests collected their doorgifts before making their way up to Level 99.

Set high above the city, the 30-metre infinity pool at Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur looks out across the Kuala Lumpur skyline, making it a fitting final stop for the evening. With the city stretching out below, guests lingered a little longer before calling it a night.

After all, if this really was the most stylish room in Kuala Lumpur, there was no better way to end the Friday night than with the city below it.
