Bella Hadid and Liu Wen star in Chopard’s latest campaign celebrating five decades of its iconic Happy Diamonds collection

“Diamonds are happier when they are free.” For 50 years, that idea has been at the heart of Chopard’s Happy Diamonds, known for its stones that move freely between layers of sapphire crystal, catching the light differently with every movement.

To mark the collection’s 50th anniversary, Chopard brings together two fashion icons, Bella Hadid and Liu Wen, for a new campaign directed by Manu Cossu. And if diamonds are a girl’s best friend, who better to bring them to life than two of fashion’s most recognisable faces?

Hadid has been a Chopard ambassador since 2024, while Liu Wen joins the Maison as its newest ambassador. The pairing brings together two very different approaches to fashion, with Bella’s playful, free-spirited style meeting Liu Wen’s understated elegance.

Alongside the campaign, Chopard turns its attention back to another chapter in the Happy Diamonds story with Happy Sport The First, a re-edition of the original 1993 watch created by Caroline Scheufele.

At the time, pairing steel with diamonds was an unconventional move. But Scheufele had something more practical in mind: a watch that could go wherever the day takes you. Easy enough to wear to the office, yet polished enough for a special occasion, Happy Sport was designed to be the kind of watch that earns a permanent place in your collection.

The new editions stay close to the original, with the signature Happy Diamonds gliding and twirling directly above the dial. Available in 26mm and 33mm, the watches come in Lucent Steel, ethical yellow gold, or a combination of both.

The Happy Diamonds story continues beyond the wrist with a new series of pendants, bringing back the rectangular design first introduced in 2006.

The silhouette has been refined with softly bevelled edges, while the space around the diamonds has been opened up to let them move more freely. Available in ethical yellow, rose and white gold, the pendants feature a refined, understated shape that works beautifully worn alone or layered with other pieces.

The idea behind Happy Diamonds started in 1976, when Chopard found inspiration in a waterfall in Germany’s Black Forest. The Maison was drawn to the way sunlight danced across the falling water, creating tiny flashes that changed with every movement.

That became the inspiration for freeing diamonds from traditional settings and allowing them to move between layers of sapphire crystal.

For the anniversary campaign, director Manu Cossu looks to the glamour of classic cinema, bringing Bella Hadid and Liu Wen together to showcase the playful movement of Chopard’s Happy Diamonds.
