The South Korean actress made the announcement on her Facebook page with a video, referring to herself as Prada’s new ambassador

South Korean actress Kim Tae-ri is the newest ambassador for Prada. She made the announcement on a video about the fashion house’s Spring-Summer 2022 collection live show, introducing herself as Prada’s ambassador. The video was posted on the actress’ official Facebook page and she subsequently shared the campaign photos on Instagram.

As its ambassador, Kim also was one of the guests who watched the live show online. Other guests included Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun and Tiffany, actor Lee Jong-suk and NCT’s Jaehyun who live-streamed the show on his Instagram.

Kim joins K-pop idols, Irene from Red Velvet and Chanyeol from EXO as brand ambassadors. Previously, Kim was wearing a Prada outfit for a photoshoot with Elle Korea hinting that she might be the fashion house’s next ambassador.

Kim rose to prominence when she made her acting debut in Park Chan-wook’s erotic psychological thriller, The Handmaiden. Kim was chosen from 1,500 actresses who auditioned for the role and her performance earned her several acting awards including Best New Actress from Blue Dragon Film Awards, Director's Cut Awards, Buil Film Awards, and Busan Film Critics Awards. 

She recently starred in the first South Korean space movie, Space Sweepers and prior to that, made her K-drama debut in Mr Sunshine, one of the most expensive and highest-rated cable TV dramas ever. The actress is set to appear in an upcoming series with model-turned-actor, Nam Joo-hyuk.
