Olivia Newton-John, known for her iconic role as Sandy in the 1978 musical film Grease, was a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, actress and activist. She died on August 8 at age 73.

'Grease' Premiere

During the premiere of the musical film Grease in 1978, Newton-John arrived wearing a bright pink shirt underneath a red jacket teamed with purple pants. 

The singer-actress shared in an interview with People that the premiere party at Studio 54 welcomed big stars including Elton John and Grace Jones.

In 1979, Queen Elizabeth II awarded Newton-John an Order of the British Empire (OBE) at Buckingham Palace.

She wore a chic red and white ensemble consisting of a matching red shirt, gloves, and a hat that complement her white blazer and pants.

Channelling her inner bad girl Sandy, Newton-John was spotted at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in 1985 donning a suit paired with a metallic ruffled shirt.

That same year, the singer released a music video where she revealed her new 80s rock babe look, a style that was completely different from her previous era.
