Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2024 featured both emerging and seasoned local designers with the theme ‘Re:imagine’, and unveiled Mercedes-Benz’s brand new SUV, merging automotive innovation with fashion-forward thinking
Last weekend, the sixth Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur drew to a close after showcasing a stunning array of imaginative designs that championed craftsmanship and creativity.
The three-day show at The Yard, Sentul Depot, carried the theme ‘Re:imagine’ and featured 13 talented designers from an array of labels. This year’s showcase not only celebrated high fashion but also the enduring connection between art and automotive excellence, emphasising the fusion of style and engineering—an ode to the synergy between luxury vehicles and haute couture.
Attendees of the show also had the unique opportunity to experience the luxury and performance of Mercedes-Benz firsthand through exclusive test drives, especially its all new EQS450 4Matic SUV.

Here’s a quick highlight of some of the designers who showcased their work at the show:
Ellie Lim debuted her new label, EL, with a collection that embodies the label’s core aesthetic of simple yet bold silhouettes with intricate textures. Each piece exudes sophistication and effortless style—a testament to EL’s vision to reinvent contemporary fashion with a focus on individuality and inclusivity.
From edgy jerseys paired with snapbacks, to using fanciful ties as belts or pairing them with sleek leather jackets, Doubleback by Will Lim aims to push boundaries and transform how people approach clothing. This dedication to experimentation and the fun of fashion was evident in its collection for MBFWKL, featuring an unconventional blend of street culture and luxury clothing.
The combined show for A-Jane and Noiz by Alice Chang featured a collection of which 96 per cent was produced using carbon-neutral processes and waste-reducing techniques. Her work demonstrated that eco-friendly fashion can be avant-garde and commercially viable, with her heavy musical influences and distinct artistic identity.

The event concluded with shows from renowned designers Brian Khoo, Jonathan Cheng and Voon Lai of United Wood, alongside the 2023 World Federation of Master Tailors Emerging Design competition winner, Dickson Lim. Lim presented his spring-summer 25 collection titled ‘Mutation of Love, in the Sands of Time’ that combines his signature aesthetic with eco-conscious practices. Embracing unconventional construction, each design showcased a mixture of refined opulence and functionality.
Critically acclaimed and highly-trained designer Brian Khoo, whose brand has constructed a multitude of gowns for Miss Universe Malaysia, returned with 42 stunning looks, each crafted with care and creativity. In line with this year’s theme, each piece sought to cross the frontiers of fashion.

United Wood’s runway show featured a diverse range of silhouettes, marrying modern elegance with edgy femininity. With denim at the centre of it all, Cheng and Lai elevated the everyday and the familiar to an haute degree, asking the question: Why not wear denim couture to the club?
It was an all-white party with Coterie by Celeste Choi. The bridal designer brought what she knows best: elegant, feminine pieces in white. Capturing luxury with intricate lace, embroidery, and beadwork, her collection showcased white shirts, shirtdresses, and dresses that are smart, comfortable, and stylish.
