The South Korean actor joined both local and international celebrities at the fashion house’s all-new unique dining and retail concept located in a shophouse along Keong Saik Road

The Coach Play Singapore Shophouse, Coach’s first blending dining and retail experience in the world, had its grand opening last Friday on April 14, to much fanfare. Crowds gathered early under the sweltering April heat in front of the pastel pink shophouse, hoping to get a glimpse of the celebrities that would be gracing Keong Saik Road with their presence.

One by one, celebrities stepped out of Coach’s appointed vehicles to the adoration of fans. By far the loudest cheers were reserved for South Korean actor Lee Soo Hyuk of Doom at Your Service (2021) fame, stunning in a burgundy Coach leather jacket and patent leather that kept him visible to his adoring fans. Leather buckles around his thighs and patent leather boots added a touch of grunge to an otherwise polished getup.

He was accompanied by local artists like Jeanette Aw, Lawrence Wong, and Iman Fandi, as well as international celebrities like Hakken, Jane Chuck,  Eyka Farhana and more from Malaysia, Thai actor Yongsin Wongpanitnont, as well as Yasmin Napper and Angga Yunanda from Indonesia.

Malaysian cosplayer Hakken showed up oozing cool in a long black leather coat reminiscent of The Matrix, carrying a chalk-white Coach Tabby Box Bag that added a spot of bright contrast to their look. Local actor Glenn Yong took the opposite approach with a flamboyant patchwork leather jacket sporting a bright yellow-gold Tabby Box Bag that was a welcome medley of colours.

The stars took a tour of all three levels of the Shophouse to see the Coach Café in collaboration with local coffee retailer Brawn & Brains, retail spaces including a room dedicated to vintage bags and customisation services, and an immersive video experience dedicated to the craftsmanship of Coach’s leather goods. After that, they headed down to Col, a neighbouring restaurant-bar by chef Colin Buchan for canapés, champagne, and cocktails.
