See all the local celebrities at the glitzy opening of Fendi’s first men’s boutique at Takashimaya
Benjamin Kheng and Jon Chua were among the first celebrities to step foot in the new Fendi men’s boutique that opened its doors at Takashimaya Shopping Centre on March 16. The two musicians were clad in easy, breezy pieces: Kheng layered a navy blazer over a white T-shirt and black shorts, while Chua wore a matching printed denim ensemble.
Their outfits, pulled from Fendi’s spring/summer 2023 menswear collection, were available at the boutique itself. The lavish store spans 123 square metres and is officially the first in Southeast Asia to be dedicated to the Italian fashion brand’s menswear offerings. Like the Fendi women’s store on Level 1, the new men’s boutique boasts a sophisticated interior, marked by polished metal fixtures and a hypnotising green marble floor. On the outside, the store also shows off a futuristic, translucent “LED curtain”, which serves as both a window and a screen to play Fendi’s latest campaigns.

At the store opening party, however, all eyes were on the celebrity guests. Singapore actors Lawrence Wong, Romeo Tan, Elvin Ng and Ayden Sng showed up in various Fendi men’s looks. Iman Fandi and her brother Ilhan Fandi—who both attended Louis Vuitton’s invite-only trunk show last month—nicely contrasted each other’s monochromatic ensembles. Iman flaunted the Peekaboo Cut handbag, while Ilhan toted the must-have accessory of the evening: the Peekaboo ISeeU bag.
The bag’s versatility was demonstrated in the many ways it was worn, be it slung upon the shoulder like the orange leather bag seen on beatboxer Dharni Ng, or simply carried by its top handle as fashion influencer Glenn Goh did with his black Peekaboo ISeeU bag.
