Launched in 2004, the Cambon Ligne is known for its bold oversized CC logo. Its name references Rue Cambon in Paris, where Gabrielle Chanel opened her first boutique in 1910

Vanessa Paradis, a long-time Chanel ambassador since 1991, first brought the Cambon collection into focus through its iconic 2004–2005 campaign. In the early 2000s, it became a defining piece on style icons such as Paris Hilton, Victoria Beckham, and Lindsay Lohan

Today, the collection has re-entered the fashion conversation through social media as influencers reintroduce its bold, logo-driven aesthetic to a new generation. The revival appears to be continuing with Matthieu Blazy reimagining the iconic Cambon mules for the Chanel Coco Beach 2026 collection, further hinting at the return of the Cambon era.

Launched in 2004 under Karl Lagerfeld, the Chanel Cambon line quickly became recognisable for its oversized CC logo and colourful contrasting interiors. Inspired by 31 Rue Cambon, Gabrielle Chanel’s historic Paris address, the collection captured the bold spirit of early-2000s fashion before being discontinued in 2012 and later became a coveted collector’s favourite.

Why the Cambon collection still resonates

As fashion continues to embrace the Y2K revival, the Chanel Cambon collection feels more relevant than ever. With its bold logos, sharp contrast details and statement-making energy, it embodied early-2000s Chanel at its most playful and expressive. Part of the collection’s lasting appeal also lies in its versatility, with everything from bags to footwear easily fitting into both everyday and more fashion-forward moments.

With growing interest in archival Chanel and early-2000s aesthetics, it has re-emerged as a coveted vintage favourite among a new wave of collectors and style enthusiasts. As a defining creation of the Karl Lagerfeld era, it remains firmly cemented in fashion history, often regarded as a collectible must-have that continues to feel iconic, relevant and unmistakably Chanel.
