We’re seeing green—literally—for this flashy new colour trend that all the celebrities and street style stars are wearing now

Seeing green lately? You’re not the only one.

The striking shade has been everywhere lately, and spotting it on Blackpink’s Rosé has just cemented the colour’s entreé into fashionable society. Earlier this July, the K-pop superstar posted an update on Instagram wearing a slip dress in a very specific shade of Kelly green—one that was seen on Daniel Lee’s Bottega Veneta spring/summer 2021 runway—and the colour trend has since swept both celebrities and street style stars off their feet.

Take the recently concluded Copenhagen Fashion Week for example: the bold hue was spotted outside the shows almost every single day, with show goers repping it in every possible form imaginable. Trench coats, dresses, coordinating sets, or simply adding dashes of the standout colour to their outfits with accessories.

While most people would balk at the idea of wearing green—most commonly heard reasons include: it doesn’t look flattering on Asian skin tones, it’s a difficult colour to pull off—it’s really not all that challenging to pull off.

Our tip? If you’re hesitant to go all out, take a leaf from street style stars and use the colour as an accent instead—instead of a full, coordinating look, try adding just one green piece to your outfit, whether it’s a skirt, top, bag or shoes. And don’t be afraid of clashing it with another bright shade like peacock blue, orange or yellow—it’s often the jarring clash that brings the best effect.
