The 41st Hong Kong Film Awards, held last night at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, brought together the biggest names in the city’s film industry, as well as international celebrities including Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, who attended the event to show her support and gratitude to the local film industry.
While the awards themselves celebrated the best in Hong Kong cinema, the red carpet, with its stunning fashion moments, signalled HKFA’s first full and physical comeback since 2020 and the outbreak of the pandemic in the city. Against the stunning skyline across Victoria Harbour, a number of celebrities turned heads with their glamorous ensembles. Singer, actress and last night’s Best Actress award winner Sammi Cheng wowed us in not one but two sleek black gowns: Valentino as she arrived for the ceremony, and Mugler H&M when she accepted her long-awaited win.
Sheer capes and shimmery silver gowns ruled the red carpet and was seen on stars including Chrissie Chau, Isabella Leong, Louise Wong and Jennifer Yu. Meanwhile, a group of stylish men, including Mirror members Keung To, Edan Lui and Jer Lau, showed us how to rock versatile suits and jewellery.
