The House's spring-summer 2023 collection is a meeting of two worlds—the old and new—with a touch of European luxury seen through Rhuigi Villaseñor's lens

"In fashion, as in our daily lives, beauty is always linked to a sense of place and identity: Ideas and gestures we can understand and connect with on a personal level. When I discovered the Bally universe, it was clear to me that my energy and my point of view would be the catalyst for a renaissance, two decades since the last Bally runway show," he shares.

An exploration of European luxury as seen through the designer's American lens, the spring-summer 2023 collection titled "ECDYSIS" features ready-to-wear and accessories for women and men.

Swiss leather craftsmanship is highlighted through these pieces, continuing Bally's heritage. This is the direction Villaseñor has taken for the collection with a lightness of hand.

But while the designer continues this lynchpin, the collection also draws from the world of sports and cinema. It is bold and youthful, much like the well-travelled wearer.

There are shantung silk pyjamas, tiger print suiting in silk velvet, stretch Nappa, and even opulent metallics.

The Bally footwear collection also features playful details, from sculpted sandal heels to archival Mary Janes with a Cuban heel.

With Villaseñor's new energy, worldly references, and glamorous details, the designer is taking Bally toward the path of radical luxury—and this season is only the beginning.
