Fashion designer Andrea Tetangco unveils her first ready-to-wear collection, coinciding with the opening of her new Rockwell location

Andrea Tetangco unveiled her first ready-to-wear luxury collection, coined as a celebration of individuality and self-expression. The occasion coincides with the opening of a new atelier in Rockwell’s Proscenium—a significant milestone in her 17-year-long fashion design career.

She hosted an intimate gathering, dubbed “The Statement of a Woman,” at her new space, where muses, friends, and colleagues gathered to delight in a curated display of garments. Here, she seeks to carve out a home for women seeking to create bold statements with bespoke creations.

“Moving to Rockwell positions my brand to a discerning audience, offering an opportunity to expand my reach, connect with more clients, and elevate the brand’s prestige,” Tetangco comments.

Tetangco attributes her design ethos to women and seeks to champion femininity through clothing. She says, “My role here as a designer is not just about making dresses. I also believe in women, and my purpose is for them to feel confident.” Her creations directly reflect this, integrating feminine embellishments like beading, tulle, and frills to imbue an unapologetically girlish touch. Clients who find their way into the space will be guaranteed personalised attention and guidance from Tetangco and her team.

Through the years, she has lovingly created garments for various occasions, from proms and birthday celebrations to balls, carpet appearances, and even bridal wear.

Moreover, Tetangco celebrates the female form, creating garments that evoke sophistication and elegance. “When [a client] wears my creations, the statement she makes is: I am a woman who knows my worth, celebrates my uniqueness, and embraces sophistication in every aspect of my life,” she emphasises. “My role here as a designer is not just about making dresses. I also believe in women, and my purpose is for them to feel confident.”

In September, Tetangco was among four designers who showcased their creations at New York Fashion Week through Filipinxt.
