Parfums Christian Dior tapped multifaceted powerhouse Rihanna to succeed Charlize Theron as the face of J’Adore, marking an exciting new chapter in the legacy of the iconic fragrance

The Dior J’Adore is a timeless aromatic embodiment of empowered femininity, enveloping its wearer in a golden halo of luminous grace and elegance with every spritz. Each layer unfolds like the warm glow of a sunset, capturing the essence of what it means to be a woman who is unapologetically herself, one who fearlessly shapes her destiny and dares to dream without boundaries. For two decades, actress Charlize Theron was the very face of that woman—the J’Adore woman.

Now, Parfums Christian Dior has found a new muse to epitomise the audaciously feminine spirit of the J’Adore fragrance, and who else could it be but the queen of beauty herself, the one and only Rihanna?

Having risen from humble beginnings in Barbados to becoming one of the most influential figures in the world, the musician, business mogul, global icon, and mother of two has continuously reinvented herself whilst remaining authentically her, dominating any field she ventures into and doing it all with a golden glow that illuminates her path and inspires those around her.

Rihanna’s appointment as the new face of J’adore was merely destiny at play, scripted by fate from the moment she first discovered the fragrance that would become an aromatic extension of her identity. “I have always loved this perfume. My mother worked in a perfume shop, and she used to bring home the testers when they were almost empty. There was always a bottle of J'adore in the house,” she recalls.

Above Launched in 1999, Dior’s J’adore has captivated the hearts of many for a quarter of a century. J’adore is more than just a fragrance; it’s an experience, a statement, and a celebration of womanhood in all its glorious complexity

Blending fruity and floral notes with the sultry warmth of musk and vanilla, the J’Adore captures femininity in all its forms—bold yet delicate, powerful yet sensual. “J’adore is a unique fragrance,” Rihanna describes. “It is fresh and sexy at the same time. It is neither too spicy, nor too delicate nor too clean. J’adore has an aura. It expresses a genuine ‘essence’.”

As Christian Dior once said, “A drop of perfume and you are dressed in Dior.” With the release of the L’Or de J’adore, the latest addition to the J’adore family concocted by none other than renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, we can’t help but wonder: For a fragrance christened as ‘the gold of J’adore’, what does it mean to be “dressed” in the very essence of J’adore? In her own words, Rihanna declares, “You don’t need clothes if you’re wearing J’adore... that’s the outfit. Pure gold! Thanks to the legend Francis Kurkdjian.”

In a campaign shot by acclaimed photographer Steven Klein, the opulent Versailles, bathed in golden light, serves as the perfect backdrop for what can only be described as a coronation, crowning Rihanna as the new muse of J'adore.

“Rihanna has something remarkable that exceeds beauty and talent in truly extravagant fashion. Her aura is striking, it is as though she comes from another world. Images of her glow, and literally embody something unique that has never been seen before,” Klein shares, adding, “With J'adore, she transforms into a living goddess, a queen in her kingdom who fully embodies the noble character of a perfume that speaks to women all over the world.”

The campaign breathes new life into the J’adore legacy, marking the beginning of a new dream—a dream spun in gold, where the spirit of J’adore intertwines with Rihanna’s fierce individuality.
