In the age of social media, it can be argued that authenticity has become quite a rare commodity. In an interview with Tatler, Merz Aesthetics® Philippines General Manager Jorge Libanan said, “The relationship between physical and mental health is very important. They cannot be separated.” Even more so enthused by their conversations on personal challenges during the pandemic, his team pursued to relay that message passionately to its consumers in the country—and there was simply no better woman to amplify the tenor than the multi-hyphenate Pia Wurtzbach.

After she graciously won the Miss Universe title in 2015, Wurtzbach has only continued to enthral the world with her magnetic charm and raw appeal, as a celebrated model, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and vlogger among others. In a notable way, through her podcast and YouTube channel with close friends and fellow beauty queens, she has not shied away from opening up about her mental and emotional struggles amidst years in the blinding spotlight, taking them head-on and learning to admit when she needed help.

Truly embodying the resilience and confidence Merz Aesthetics® hopes to fuel among its patrons, Wurtzbach was fittingly announced as Ultherapy®’s latest ambassador in the splendour of Shangri-La at the Fort Hotel last September 8, 2022. Joined onstage by psychiatrist Dr Ed Tolentino and board-certified dermatologist Dr Irene Gaile Robredo-Vitas, she generously mused about her tumultuous yet relatable journey, detailing how she was able to care for herself in spite of it all.

Among the stunning star’s go-to hacks are, of course, eating healthy, staying active (she’s even running her first NYC marathon in less than two months!), and enjoying her ‘me time’. Like many, she has found a trusted and reliable favourite in Ultherapy®, the gold standard in non-invasive lifting treatments which one can opt to do just once or twice a year with zero downtime. Indeed, as the spirited event came to an end, the one thing that remained most evidently clear about Merz Aesthetics® was their resolutely personalised commitment to patients, clients, and partners alike. Elaborating on what sets their vision and approach apart, Merz Asia Pacific Regional Associate Vice President Raymond Ong, said, “We work together with our customers and our accounts to understand their needs and learn how we can partake in their journeys. To recognise distinguished doctors and clinics who have avidly used its products and machines, Merz Aesthetics® Philippines also hosted the fourth annual Tala Awards shortly after the announcement of its latest ambassador. It was a stellar evening of worthy celebration, graced by some of the country’s best, no less. There were 7-Star awards for the Aivee Clinic, Avignon Clinic, Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations, and Toledo Medical Companies Inc, while the much coveted Overall 7-Star award was also taken home by the Aivee Clinic.
