Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach proudly reveals her latest project: an F&B brand that brings you flavours of the globe

Pia Wurtzbach (Miss Universe 2015) is a woman of many talents. Model, the ultimate pageant queen, entrepreneur, host, vlogger, philanthropist, and content creator. . . she ventures into yet another industry by launching her own food brand: Pia’s Kitchen!

She says excitedly that this project in collaboration with CloudEats is “an ode to my love of food and travel.” It is no secret that Wurtzbach loves to cook, eat, and travel. Bitten by the wanderlust bug, this globetrotter is truly an adventurous foodie. In fact, Pia’s World Kitchen is described to have a ‘travelling menu,’ meaning that it will change every three months to focus on a specific region, depending on which culinary destinations spark Wurtzbach’s curiosity and capture her heart. The first stop on this gourmet journey, from now until June, is Japan!

What is lined up (for now) in the coming months will be: Southeast Asian, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Western cuisines.

As someone who loves to host and share what she is passionate about, Pia’s Kitchen was created so that Wurtzbach could share her favourite eats and to encourage people to try new things. With young working professionals, growing families, and thrifty food and travel enthusiasts in mind, Pia’s Kitchen was designed to deliver interesting flavours from around the globe.

We talk to Pia Wurtzbach to learn more about her brand, here:

Why did you want to start a food concept at this time?

I really love food and I really love to eat. I wanted to share my favourite cuisines with people and I thought Pia’s Kitchen would be the best way for people to have a taste of the world one click away. Especially now in a pandemic where travel is not as accessible to all, tasting food from different parts of the world feels like you’re already travelling.

When did you know you loved food/cooking? Why do you love cooking?

I like experimenting with different tastes and when I travel, I love to try out different ingredients. When I dine in different restaurants, and when I have the chance to talk to the chef or the owner, I’m always curious about the history of the food or getting introduced to new ingredients or combinations that I haven’t tried before.

How does the travelling menu work? How is the collaboration with CloudEats?

We will be changing our menu every three months to highlight a different country/continent. I’ve been very hands-on in choosing what food to offer. It’ll be exciting for our customers because they get to try a different menu as if they were really travelling with me!

Do you have a personal favourite on the current menu? What dish do you recommend people to try?

I really like curry. The secret is in the sauce — definitely a must-try!
