Filipino real-estate company Megaworld commemorates 35 wonderful years in the industry. Here’s everything that has happened during the intimate gathering

The theme for this year’s celebration is A Lasting Vision, a motherhood statement that highlights Megaworld’s transformation into one of the Philippines’ premier developers. Now on its 35th year in the industry, the property giant acknowledges friends and partners who have been integral to its journey. Kevin Tan, CEO of Megaworld’s parent company, Alliance Global Group, reflects on the company’s evolution and the challenges it has withstood over the years. In a speech before the crowd, he expresses his heartfelt gratitude to the employees who contributed greatly to their success.

“Over the past three and a half decades, we have faced many challenges and achieved significant success. We owe much of our progress to the unwavering support of our partners across the country. Thank you to all of you,” he acknowledges, highlighting the company’s resilience and growth.

Tan shares his vision for the future, where Megaworld will support more government programmes and develop more towns in provinces to generate job opportunities for Filipinos. He also acknowledges the hardwork and patience of Megaworld employees, giving the guests a sense of the company’s direction and impact.

“To the men and women of Megaworld, thank you for all your contributions, for your hard work and dedication in bringing our company to where it is today. You, together with all our partners who are with us here, are part of the continuing fulfilment of our lasting vision—to uplift lives, impact society, and help shape the nation,” Tan says.

The event was graced by prominent figures in the country, including First Lady Liza AranetaMarcos, Tessie Sy-Coson of SM Investments Corp, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) Chair Alejandro Tengco, Philippine Stock Exchange Chair Jose Pardo, Araneta Group CEO Jorge Araneta and Inquirer Group of Companies CEO Sandy Prieto-Romualdez.

Megaworld founder Dr Andrew Tan and newly appointed president Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, who assumed the post in June 2024, were also present during the event. Alfonso’s appointment comes after Megaworld announced its plans to provide PhP55 billion capital expenditure to widen its footprint by half to three million square metres by the end of the decade.
