The exclusive Citi Ultima Mastercard allows banking veterans like Lung-Nien Lee to live his life to the fullest
Living large is a way of life for Lung-Nien Lee. When it comes to pursuing his goals and passions, Lee’s tenacity knows no bounds. In the span of 30 years, he doggedly rose through the ranks to become Chairman and Head of South Asia at Citi Private Bank. Not content to rest on his laurels, he is also a certified executive coach taking on mentor and speaker roles to nurture the next generation of financial leaders and entrepreneurs.
Simply put? Lee is a go-getter who wears many hats.
As a modern-day Renaissance man, it should come as no surprise then that Lee regards the Citi Ultima Card–one of bank's most exclusive and coveted credit cards–as his go-to financial companion to live his life to the very fullest.
Beyond his successful career, Lee has a penchant for luxury automobiles–both collecting and racing cars. Formerly the President of Motor Sports Singapore, he now serves as the Vice President of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) for Asia Pacific. Another hobby of his? Playing the drums, a skill he has honed from the tender age of twelve. Lee continues to take the stage today, occasionally with a band at special events.
So where does Lee find the verve to fearlessly pursue his many passions? He calls on these key qualities when approaching any situation in life: resilience, self-awareness, authenticity, and having the right attitude. “The great thing about these qualities is that you don’t need talent to build them—they’re cultivated with passion, perseverance and commitment”, the affable father of two affirms.

Above Lee keeps his balance with mindful pockets of peace amidst his high-octane lifestyle
Lee’s success and solid connections have brought him across the globe but there’s no denying that the by-invitation-only Citi Ultima Card has brought him even closer to some of the finest experiences in life. In spite of his high-octane lifestyle, Lee keeps his balance with mindful pockets of peace to focus daily. “Amidst the pursuit of going fast and far, the need for balance has led me to unassuming, quiet places like my favourite coffee shop”, he muses.
It is this needed equilibrium between fast and slow, loud and soft, exclusive and incredibly simple, that form what Lee describes as the “ultimate way of life”.
