The charity gala will be held on September 23 and will see Minister Desmond Lee in attendance

Touch Community Services (Touch) is celebrating 30 years of transforming the lives of children, youth-at-risk, families in need, seniors and people with disabilities. In honour of this milestone, the organisation will be holding a charity gala on September 23.

The gala will take place at The Ritz Carlton, Millenia Singapore and will see Mr Desmond Lee, the minister for national development and the minister-in-charge of social services integration in attendance.

Themed Dare to Dream, the gala is set to raise SG$1,000,000 to support its work with over 229,000 vulnerable individuals, families and communities.

“Touch started from a simple beginning with a big dream,” said Mr Lawrence Khong, the founding chairman of Touch, in a statement. “What set that dream in motion 30 years ago was a simple step taken by seven young volunteers to help children from vulnerable families. This small attempt has today become a multi-service organisation with an integrated network of services located across various touchpoints in Singapore.”

“I am grateful for the partners, sponsors and volunteers who believed in Touch and who have journeyed with us to make this dream of transforming lives a reality.”

The gala will be co-created by Touch as well as award-winning event planner Olga Iserlis of Adagio Events. It will see sponsors, corporate and community partners as well as beneficiaries of Touch in attendance. Guests will also be treated to delectable pre-dinner canapes by chefs of the Singapore Chefs Association, led by celebrity chef Eric Neo.

They will later enjoy a four-course dinner designed around the four elements of dreams, a newly launched short film by Touch titled The Human Touch, and a set by the world-renowned composer, concert pianist and Steinway Artist, Julian Gargiulo.

The occasion will be a joyous celebration of the lives that Touch has impacted over the last 30 years and will look ahead to the future as Touch continues its good work in the community.
