Trailblazing Filipinos were honoured at the PhilDev Gala, celebrating their groundbreaking contributions to science, innovation, sustainability and national progress
The PhilDev Gala and Awards, held on September 21 at the EDSA Shangri-La in Manila, celebrated not just individual achievement but the power of collective innovation, leadership, and the transformative potential of education and entrepreneurship. The event paid tribute to nine trailblazers from the science and technology (S&T) community whose contributions are shaping the future of the Philippines.
This celebration, which reflects the vision of Dado Banatao and the Philippine S&T Development Foundation (PhilDev), brought together industry leaders and innovators for a momentous evening. Among the esteemed awardees were three standout figures who have not only made significant contributions in their fields but also earned their spot in Tatler Asia's Most Influential list: Nanette Medved-Po, Edsel Salvana, and Alice Eduardo.

Throughout the evening, the overarching commitment to advancing the PhilDev programmes was a recurring theme. From the PhilDev Science and Engineering Scholarship (PSES) to the Young Banatao Learning Lab (YBLL) and Technopreneurship Education and Training (TechED) initiatives, the foundation is building a future where Filipino talent in science, technology, engineering, and entrepreneurship thrives. By providing financial support, mentorship, and opportunities for young Filipinos to explore and excel in STEM, PhilDev fosters technopreneurial mindsets that will drive innovation both in the Philippines and beyond.
