Cover Wonderfruit invites you to embark on a new experience with “Chapters Kyoto” from October 22-25, 2026 in Kyoto, Japan.

Celebrating Wonderfruit's 11th anniversary, the event expands with "Chapters Kyoto," a four-day event for 100 Wonderers who will embark on a journey of wonder in Kyoto, Japan, from October 22-25, 2026.

Wonderfruit is a festival of immersive experiences where art, music, food, creativity, and nature beautifully converge amidst the vast natural landscape of The Fields, Siam Country Club, Chonburi Province. For a decade, it has transformed December into a five-day event of inspiration and a destination for people from all over the world.

In 2025, Wonderfruit launched a series of Chapters titled Field Chapters: Frequencies, Energy and Vibrations, a three-day event that took small groups of Wonderers on a journey to learn about diverse disciplines.

And in 2026, Chapters Kyoto will be born as its first international series, with a four-day program from October 22nd to 25th, 2026. 100 participants will experience tranquility, visiting ancient temples, private gardens, and other locations in the heart of Kyoto's valley, immersing themselves in the beauty of Japanese culture. This will be inspired by the Zen Buddhist concept of "Myo," through the expression of rituals and creative works in both traditional and contemporary forms, encompassing music, food, art, and performance.

A new chapter in Kyoto.

Pete Pranithan Prapha, founder of Wonderfruit, stated that Kyoto is a city that works with core questions that have long been at the heart of Wonderfruit. The Zen concept, which explores the mind, sound, and nature, is something Wonderfruit has intended to build upon at The Fields from the very beginning.

“I once went hiking and explored nature in Kurama, and being in a place like that was part of what made me feel that Chapters Kyoto was the right place. It's an opportunity to experience traditions at their true origins. We're starting on a small scale, with only 100 guests over four days. This means you'll be dining with the artists and experts who guide each experience, and meeting other collaborators in an open and engaging way that a larger-scale event can't provide.”

Pete explained that what you can do with a hundred people is completely different from what you can do with a thousand. "Watching the sunset at Ohara Sanso and the conversations that gradually grew over four days—those moments are what we wanted to create for our first year, and what will continue to grow will flourish. Taking slow and steady steps is how we want to learn from this place."

From Higashiyama to Kurama.

The four-day program will take place in private and sacred locations throughout Kyoto, places not typically accessible to the public. It will begin with an opening ceremony in the Higashiyama area, offering panoramic views of the city, followed by village-level performances across the Ohara Sanso rice terraces, and culminating in a closing ceremony at a mountain temple in Kurama. (Further program details will be announced soon.)

The meticulous attention to detail of Chapters Kyoto stems from a diverse collaboration between Toho Leo Co., Ltd., a leading company in urban green spaces, spatial design, and heritage property management, and TeaRoom Inc., a startup revolutionizing Japan's tea industry and culture. Ryo Iwamoto, the founder of TeaRoom, has been involved in Wonderfruit programs since 2024, is the youngest Tea Master in the Urasenke Tea Association, and a key figure in Kyoto's cultural landscape.
