Korean actress Mun Ka-young shares her dream destinations and in-flight skincare essentials

You take your skincare very seriously. How do you maintain your skincare routine while travelling? 

Yes, I do! The most important thing when travelling is to keep my skin hydrated, because the air on the plane can be very drying. One of my must-haves is a humidifier mask—there’s one I like that has an extra sheet layer to lock in hydration. I also always carry lipstick with me to keep my lips moisturised. To keep all of this tidy, I use the Tumi Voyageur Madeline cosmetic bag, which has transparent compartments that allow me to neatly store and easily find my items. 

Do you have an in-flight skincare routine? 

I make sure to cleanse my face thoroughly before boarding the plane. Lip balm and eye drops are essential. Most importantly, I apply extra cream to keep my skin from becoming dry.

What are some of your must-have travel items? 

Regardless of whether I’m travelling for work or fun, I’m a very organised traveller. I prepare everything before I go—even medicines that I might not need, but feel better knowing I have just in case. I always travel with my earphones, so I can listen to my favourite music. I also usually carry a tote for meetings, and a crossbody [bag] for sightseeing or a night out. Can you share a travel experience or memory that had a meaningful impact on you? 

Going to Los Angeles for the Tumi Asra campaign photoshoot was one of my most memorable travel experiences. It was my first time visiting LA and the fact that I was able to go there with Tumi and for our campaign was really meaningful and made me think a lot about the definition of travel. Going to a new location and working with a new group of people was challenging but very exciting as well! The fact that I was able to experience all these things through Tumi was very heartwarming and meaningful to me.
