A Dashing Daily Driver
The fifth generation of the Lexus RX brings with it a significant design revamp, as it combines the on-road performance of a luxury saloon with the functionality of an SUV. The all-new RX, which replaces its predecessor—which has been in the market since 2015—showcases the fresh next-generation Lexus design paired with advanced technology for a captivating and powerful presence.
In terms of looks, Lexus reimagined its iconic spindle grille as a three-dimensional mass, referred to as the spindle body. The design is the new Lexus identity, featuring a smaller and less pointed grille, highlighting a raised tip bonnet that seamlessly blends with the grille just above the brand emblem. And the dashing looks are functional too. Coupled with aerodynamic steering technology, it plays a significant role in the RX's performance, managing airflow over the body to enhance stability and reduce drag.
Inside the cabin, the RX features a simplified dashboard with a 14-inch centre touchscreen which provides access to the SUV's functions. Further, the touchscreen incorporates dials for media volume control and triple-zone climate control. When it comes to safety, the RX shares the same system with the Lexus Safety System+ suite, which anticipates risks and assists the driver in avoiding them.
Performance wise, the RX 350 packs a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, providing all-wheel drive and a total system output of 275 hp with 430 Nm of torque. Translating to a complete century sprint in under 8 seconds—impressive for an SUV its size.
The all-new Lexus RX 350 Luxury is priced at RM468,888, prior to insurance, and comes with a five year warranty coverage, regardless of mileage.
