At the core of this launch is the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system—a fifth-generation hybrid powertrain that combines the instant response of electric driving with the flexibility and range of a traditional engine. It’s built around a 1.5L turbocharged hybrid engine, paired with a high-efficiency electric motor, delivering 255 kW of power and 525 Nm of torque.

The Stepless Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) enables seamless transitions between drive modes with 98.5 per cent mechanical efficiency.

The high-capacity Lithium Iron Phosphate battery is dust- and water-resistant (IP68-certified), built to endure heat up to 95°C, and supports fast charging from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in just 20 minutes.

The combined driving range clocks in at up to 1,200 km, giving Malaysian drivers a rare mix of everyday efficiency and long-haul readiness—perfect for weekend getaways or cross-country trips without the stress of frequent charging stops.

Through its Global Safety Challenge, the brand has subjected its PHEV battery systems to a series of rigorous real-world tests in China, Indonesia, and Mexico. From vehicle collisions and vertical drops to seawater submersion and undercarriage scrapes on rugged terrain, these trials are designed to prove not just performance, but peace of mind.

Malaysia is at a tipping point in EV adoption, fuelled by growing environmental awareness, government incentives, and a new wave of consumers who want cars that reflect both their values and lifestyle.

Public charging infrastructure is expanding, car taxes are being restructured to favour cleaner models and even property developers are incorporating EV charging bays into new builds.

This shift isn't just about tech—it signals a broader cultural and economic transition. As Malaysians lean into greener living, carmakers that offer stylish, future-forward alternatives are perfectly poised to lead. We’re witnessing not just a change in how we drive, but a redefinition of what modern mobility means in Malaysia.

As the shift to sustainable mobility accelerates, Chery’s new Tiggo PHEVs arrive not just in step with the moment, but ahead of it.
