What happens when women come together in a safe space for real talk and building strength in numbers? A select group of 40 ladies had a chance to find out this month with BMW Malaysia’s invite-only premiere driving experience to Bamboo Hills Kuala Lumpur for an insightful and invigorating afternoon.

A highly anticipated follow-up event to Tatler Malaysia’s Front & Female Awards in Kuala Lumpur in March presented in partnership with BMW Malaysia, the driving experience consisted of a convoy drive from Ara Damansara to Ginger at Bamboo Hills for a lunch and fireside chat.

A testament to BMW Malaysia’s values supporting women from all walks of life, the luxury automaker’s ongoing partnership with Tatler’s Front & Female pillar has resulted in various events bringing women together for insightful discussions and eye-opening experiences.

The morning kicked off as a varied group of ladies, from CEOs and social entrepreneurs to filmmakers and athletes, gathered at the Auto Bavaria showroom at Ara Damansara.

The ladies were also taken through a simple introduction and walk-through of BMW’s electric models, particularly the i5 by BMW Product Genius, followed by a safety briefing.

In a sleek fleet of cars, our guests then made the smooth drive from Ara Damansara to Bamboo Hills Kuala Lumpur for lunch at Ginger.

Influential ladies including BP Healthcare’s Lovy Beh, Orangeleaf Consulting CEO Ellice Ng, award-winning filmmaker Amanda Nell Eu and others continued to network and enjoy the rest of the programme at the restaurant, where a three-course menu was prepared.

Juleen Tan, head of marketing for BMW Malaysia, welcomed the ladies with a warm speech before a casual fireside chat took place featuring Tatler Malaysia and Indonesia executive managing director Gerrie Beh, Family Frontiers’ Suriani Kempe and Earth Heir founder Sasibai Kimis. The speakers touched on topics of gender discrimination, opportunities and challenges for women at the workplace and the need to normalise women’s unique voices and needs towards a more equitable work environment.

As lunch was served, our guests had a chance to mingle amongst the power women in the room and even receive a car pendant inscribed with a BMW logo and imbued with a range of distinct fragrances inspired by the various EV models in BMW’s repertoire. After lunch, the ladies adjourned back to their luxe rides for the scenic drive back to Auto Bavaria Ara Damansara.
