From haunted houses to creepy treats, here’s how to survive the night at Universal Studios Singapore’s annual scare-fest
Get ready to scream as the ghouls come out to play at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights (HHN12).
Halloween comes an over month early, as the 12th edition of Universal Studios Singapore’s annual scare-fest starts on September 27 and will span 18 nights on select dates. Themed Dark Dreams, be prepared to face your worst nightmares as the Halloween event takes you to a world where dreams and nightmares co-exist.
This year, find new haunted houses, scare zones, thrilling shows and more. Similar to last year, the organisers have once again partnered with streaming platform Netflix to create a haunted house, this time inspired by popular Korean horror series Sweet Home.
With so much to look forward to, it’s best to plan your night. Those who rather not stand in line waiting to enter the houses and zones, opt for the guided RIP Tour that takes you around the theme park’s haunted houses and rides.

Eerie eats

Start the night with your bellies filled. Find a selection of themed eats including the Brimstone spider chilli crab burger, To-Die-For pizza topped with chicken and more.
This year, HHN12 introduces a new immersive speakeasy bar Viper Lounge. Hidden in plain sight, this clandestine bar is owned by vampiric clan The Elders. Find the lounge and relax with a cocktail or indulge in canapés alongside bloodthirsty vampires.
Haunted houses
This year, Asian horror takes centre stage. For one, the Cursed Scrolls: Dynasty of Darkness is a house filled with evil entities of ancient scrolls. This house is a new three-dimensional experience that engages your sense of touch, smell and sight. Put on the ChromaDepth 3D glasses for a more bloodcurdling experience. Be warned, this house has some of the most unpredictable rooms, offering a unique experience each time you enter.
Hitting a little closer to home, Singapore’s Most Haunted: The Killings recreates one of Singapore’s most haunted houses, the Pasir Ris Red House. Past the stone lions, find malicious souls and their countless victims—make sure you find the exit before the incense runs out. Here, you’ll also find the retellings of some of Singapore’s most haunted stories and urban legends.
The Sweet Home haunted house is a highly anticipated house that puts the spotlight on the popular Korean series’ first two seasons. The series’ iconic apartment block has been recreated into a linear experience.
HHN12 has also collaborated with luxury streetwear label Team Wang Design for its final haunted house. The label’s first haunted house experience outside of China, Under the Castle by Team Wang Design will have you roaming through a cursed castle compound.
Scare zones

Above Keep your eyes out when walking through The Lost Kampung
The screams don’t stop after you explore the many haunted houses around the theme park. Look forward to three sinister scare zones that are just as thrilling.
The first scare zone you’ll face is Nether-land, the scare-fest’s first concept that offers a unique party element. Come back throughout the night and party with large puppets and the undead.
Walk through The Lost Kampung and keep your eyes out for vengeful spirits, evil entities, and cursed items. Here, you’ll find local ghosts including the vengeful pontianak, child-like spirit toyol, and vampiric entity penanggal. Hint: don’t put your guard down as the kampung is dimly lit—you’ll never know what’s in front of you (or behind you).
The last scare zone, Vampire Alley is found between Sting Alley and the Wharf. Venture through their gruesome shipments and find creepy vampires doing illicit business. Beware as these vampires are constantly hungry for fresh blood.
Live shows
Dark Dreams returns at the Pantages Theatre after a four-year hiatus. The thrilling and immersive show follows the Dream Reaper as he feeds off the nightmares of people in hopes of stealing their souls. Look forward to elaborate sets, exciting performances and spine-chilling special effects.
The Dream Reaper makes another appearance in Night Terrors, the scare-fest’s first projection mapping show. Here, it emerges from an abandoned fortress and elicits different fears. The projection mapping spectacle plays every half hour from 8:30pm.
Survive past the Nether-land scare zone and get to dance along with the undead at Ocu.lar’s Rave. A continuation of the scare zone, this show combines elements of a voodoo ritual and breathtaking performances.
