Mariah Carey knows how to make a scene far more interesting

Mariah Carey is not only known for her music and remarkable vocal range, but also for being a pop darling who knows what she wants. Carey is a diva and owns it, which makes her one of the most beloved figures in the industry by her "lambs".

Here are some of her most iconic moments:

Becoming a Christmas Queen

As December approaches, every establishment—and some homes, too—begin to play Christmas hits. Most likely, these playlists include one of the best-selling holiday songs by a female artist, All I Want For Christmas by the artist herself.

The song is so iconic that the artist had to recreate an "Extra Festive" version of the track. She has also collaborated with Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande, who has been compared to her in the past, in the song Oh Santa! which now has a music video on YouTube with over 45 million views.

An Extra Suite for a Wardrobe

Carey's extensive wardrobe holds some of the sexiest and most stylish pieces, and definitely nothing casual. Considering that the songstress has a multiroom closet—with dedicated sections for different categories—it's not surprising to know that she's had to book an extra suite just to fit in all her wardrobe.

Called Out Her Backup Singer

The spotlight truly loves the songbird, who's renowned for her whistle tones and exceptional vocal range. Carey has trained since age three and knows how to put on a show. So when things get a little off on-stage, expect the singer to call out those responsible—especially those who're singing over her.

While performing Touch My Body on ABC's Good Morning America in 2008, Carey couldn't help but turn to a backup singer, who was singing her part, and sing, "Stop singing my part now, baby".

She Doesn't Celebrate Her Birthday

While Carey loves throwing parties for her kids' birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays, the singer prefers to skip her birthday celebration. On Twitter, the singer posted a GIF of herself in December 2016 with a caption that read, "I don't have birthdays. I have anniversaries."

Carey wears heels as much as she can, even when she's swimming and working out in the gym (as seen in a now-deleted Instagram post). It's the golden rule.

J-Lo Who?

When Carey was just starting out in the music industry, popstar J-Lo was also on the rise. Around the 2000s, in an old interview, Carey was asked about Jennifer Lopez to which she replied, "I don't know her."

She's repeatedly snubbed the singer in the past and has finally revealed details of their feud in her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.

Sleeping Routine

The singer once revealed to Interview magazine her strict sleep regimen, all in the name of music. Maintaining a voice like Carey, after all, is not easy.

To make sure she gets to "sing the way [she] wants to", Carey needs to get 15 hours of rest and have her bed surrounded by 20 humidifiers.
