The parade is back and will be the first full-scale one we have had since the beginning of the pandemic
Singapore is gearing up to celebrate National Day with a parade that is reminiscent of the ones we used to hold before the pandemic.
With the expectation that almost every seat at the Marina Bay floating platform will be filled and the return of National Education shows for Primary 5 pupils and ticketed previews, the celebrations are set to be epic.

This year, our parade’s theme will be “Stronger Together, Majulah!” and it will call for Singaporeans to continue to push ahead as a united and strong people towards a better future, according to the National Day Parade (NDP) 2022 Executive Committee on June 2.
“NDP 2022 is not only a celebration of the resilience that Singaporeans have demonstrated but is also a call for Singaporeans to come together and strive onwards,” said Brigadier-General Goh Pei Ming, chairman of the executive committee.
The theme aims to remind Singaporeans that “unity in our diversity is what makes us stronger,” said the committee.
“Communities, families and friends coming together form the bedrock of our nation’s strength and resilience, and enable us to overcome challenges,” it shared.
The logo reflects this message as well and depicts two figures holding hands and embracing a heart, which represents Singaporeans coming together to build a strong, inclusive and caring society, according to the executive committee.
This year, Singaporeans can expect islandwide celebrations that will take place between August 6 and 7. There will be heartland celebrations organised in partnership with the People’s Association that will take place in five locations around the island. At each location, Singaporeans will be able to enjoy dedicated performances and activities as well as exhibitions by the Singapore Armed Forces and Home Team.
On August 7, the iconic Red Lions will conduct freefall jumps over two heartland sites. On National Day itself, the state flag carried by chinooks will fly around the island and F-16 fighter jets will execute a fighter island flypast across the island.
Residents can also look forward to fireworks being set off in the heartlands at the same time as when they go off at The Float @ Marina Bay, the parade’s main location.
