From new Korean dramas to hilarious comedy specials, we break down what you need to tune in to this month

June has arrived, marking the middle of 2022, and with it—Netflix subscribers can expect a whole host of new shows, movies, comedy specials and more. 

From the return of the supernatural drama The Umbrella Academy to the final season of Peaky Blinders and a Korean adaptation of Money Heist, there is so much that the streaming platform is offering its viewers. 

Here, we highlight five shows that you absolutely have to watch this month.

1. The Umbrella Academy: Season 3

The Emmy-nominated series, The Umbrella Acadamy, which follows a dysfunctional supernatural family of superheroes is back for a brand new season.

In the last season, Five protected his siblings from an apocalypse by jumping himself in time straight into another apocalypse. They also dodged death and made their way back to the Hargreeves headquarters.

Unfortunately, it now belongs to The Sparrow Academy which opens up a whole new set of problems for the group.

2. Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area

We love Money Heist so you can imagine that a Korean version of the hit television series will certainly be perfectly on point. 

The series, directed by Kim Hong-sun and written by Ryu Yong-jae, will star Yoo Ji-tae, Park Hae-soo, Jeon Jong-seo, Lee Won-jong, and Park Myung-hoon.

It will tell the story of a hostage crisis situation in Korea involving people with a multitude of personalities and abilities.

3. That's My Time With David Letterman

David Letterman’s Netflix interview show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman truly needs no introduction. And now, the streaming service is bringing veteran late-night host back with a new comedy special that will feature six episodes. 

Each episode will feature one comedian and will include a stand-up set alongside a conversation with Letterman. 

Viewers can look forward to seeing stars such as Rosebud Baker, Phil Wang, Sam Morril, Brian Simpson, Robin Tran and Naomi Ekperigin on the show.

4. Peaky Blinders Season 6

Everyone’s favourite historical drama is back on Netflix this June with season six of the franchise. In this brand new season, the Shelbys suffer a devastating loss. Four years later, Prohibition’s end turns Tommy towards the addictive opium trade which forces him to side with some of his worst enemies. 

The season promises to be the most dramatic and exciting one yet as it is, unfortunately, also the final one.

5. Hustle
