As Hospital Playlist 2 draws to a close, we look back at some of the most heart-warming scenes we can’t get over. Warning: major spoilers ahead
There is a good reason why Hospital Playlist became the 11th highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history and the K-drama series that has the highest viewership ratings for a pilot episode (season two) among other tvN dramas. While it is a medical drama, the storyline goes way beyond the lives of five doctors in their 40s—Lee Ik-jun (Jo Jung-suk), Ahn Jeong-won (Yoo Yeon-seok), Kim Jun-wan (Jung Kyung-ho), Yang Seok-hyeong (Kim Dae-myung), and Chae Song-hwa (Jeon Mi-do)—who have been long-time best friends since medical school and are now practitioners at Yulje Medical Center.
Sure, there are scenes that depict the realities of working in a hospital; of doctor-patient interaction; and of sleepless nights on duty and the challenges and fulfilment of saving lives. But more than that, the plot focuses on their friendship, families, and the ups and downs of life. Hospital Playlist is not solely a love story, but it makes viewers swoon and intrigued. It’s not suspense nor thriller but many of its scenes make many hearts pause and pound. It’s light but never boring. It’s a musical but relatable and realistic.
Now that it's time to say goodbye to this masterpiece by screenwriter Lee Woo-jung and director Shin Won-ho—the brains behind the famous Reply anthology—let’s go back to the scenes that made us laugh, cry and believe in the magic of friendship, love and life.

1. Ahn Jeong-won and Jang Gyeo-wool are finally official
After their relationship tug-of-war in season one, the handsome pediatric surgeon and general surgery resident finally start dating officially. It can be recalled that Ahn Jeong-won (Yoo Yeon-seok) struggled hard in making the biggest decisions in his life in the first season, including choosing between priesthood or following his heart to be with Jang Gyeo-wool (Shin Hyun-been). Hospital Playlist fans rejoiced when they saw Jeong-won giving Gyeo-wool a tight back-hug—the two obviously madly in love. In the end, love conquers all for the #WinterGarden couple and fans are happy (or, well, jealous).
