More than their acting prowess, these South Korean drama stars hit the right notes enough to make your hearts flutter

We have seen them perform in many K drama series and they did not disappoint. Crash Landing On You's Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok (Hyun Bin) left us breathless with those adrenalin-inducing cliffhanger twists and our jaws dropped with every stunt Ji Chang-wook did in the action series Healer and K2.

Park Sae-royi (Park Seo-joon) inspired us to persevere in life in Itaewon Class and also captured our hearts in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim. Seo In-guk broke our hearts in The Smile Has Left Your Eyes and we are keeping our fingers crossed we don't get to cry buckets in the upcoming finale of Doom at Your Service. South Korean actress Kim Go-eun made us fall in love over and over again in Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and who could ever forget Park Jin-joo's bubbly character in It's Okay to Not Be Okay?

No doubt, they have mastered their craft through the years, but what surprises us most is that they are also blessed with golden voices. In case you haven't heard them sing yet, we compiled some clips that show how talented these performers are. A sweet bonus: some of them can sing fluently in English, too!

1. Jo Jung-suk

Just like his role as Lee Ik-jun, a witty assistant professor of general surgery at Yulje Hospital who is also the vocalist of their five-piece garage band in tvN's top-rating series Hospital Playlist, actor Jo Jung Suk is a versatile rockstar, too. Some of his most-viewed videos are his covers of Creed's My Sacrifice and the Korean version of This is the Moment. He is married to South Korean singer Gummy and just last year, the couple welcomed their firstborn.

2. Kim Go-eun

This Korean National University of the Arts graduate had been dreaming of becoming a filmmaker. Little did she know that she would perform in front of the camera and eventually become part (and a lead at that) of the fifth highest-rated drama in Korean cable television history, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God in 2016 with 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards Best Actor Gong Yoo as well as in the 2020 comeback series of actor Lee Min-hoThe King: Eternal Monarch. Fans, however, cheered when they saw a shy Kim Go-eun post on her Instagram, candidly singing Adele's Someone Like You. She's too adorable.

3. Seo In-guk

This talented actor broke our hearts one too many times with his tear-jerking dramas such as The Smile Has Left Your Eyes as well as the ongoing series, Doom At Your Service. And while he keeps on making us cry, he also continues to impress us with his beautiful voice. His most recent single titled Distant Fate was released on 22 June 2021, a hearth-wrenching piece that is part of Doom at Your Service's original soundtrack.

In 2012, he recorded two singles for Reply 1997's soundtrack—All for You and Just the Way We Love—with co-star Jung Eun-ji, of which the former became one of the bestselling singles in the Gaon Single Chart that year. In 2016, we heard him sing This is the Moment while playing the piano in the rom-com series, Shopping King Louie.

He plays the piano, the guitar and surprises his followers with a medley of English songs during fan meets from time to time. He made us swoon over his version of John Legend's All of Me, Michael Bublé's Home and James Ingram's Just Once. What is it not to love?

4. Park Jin-joo

Remember Yoo Seung-jae, the art director at SangsangESang Publishing Company who assists Sang-in (Kim Joo-hun) in It's Okay to Not Be Okay, which stars Kim Soo-hyun and Seo Ye-ji? That's her, singing How Far I'll Go from Disney's 3D computer-animated musical adventure film, Moana.

5. Hyun Bin

What will you do if Hyun Bin, our dear Captain Ri, serenades you with a heartfelt song like Bradley Cooper's Shallow on a cold starry night?

6. Ji Chang-wook

South Korean actor Ji Chang-wook knocked us off our feet with his jawdropping stunts in Healer as he played alongside Park Min-young (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim). But just how strong his kicks and punches are, so is his deep voice.

Through the years, he recorded original soundtracks for most of his dramas such as Fill Up (Five Fingers, 2012), To the Butterfly (Empress Ki, 2014), I Will Protect You (Healer, 2015), 101 Reasons Why I Like You (Suspicious Partner, 2017) and When Love Passes By (Melting Me Softly, 2019).

7. Kang Ha-neul

56th Baeksang Arts Awards Best Actor Kang Ha-neul, who played a police officer in When the Camellia Blooms, is one of the South Korean actors who can speak and sing in English. On Youtube, clips of him singing Elton John's Can You Feel Tonight reached more than 100,000 views across the globe.

8. Gong Yoo

The 40-something 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards Best Actor who wrecked our hearts in Guardian: The Lonely and Great God possesses a versatile voice perfect for Eric Benet ballads, Jason Mraz pop songs and many more. We can't help but wonder, how to be you, Gong Yoo?

10. Park Bo-gum

In June 2019, Park Bo-gum visited the Philippines as part of his Asia Tour and surprised his fans with a Filipino song titled Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat, an original by Daniel Padilla, as well as Gary Valenciano's version of Steven Curtis Chapman's I Will Be Here.
