With summer coming to an end in September—although it is still scorching hot outside—and many heading back to the city from vacation, there are plenty of exciting events taking place in Hong Kong and its neighbouring areas this month.
From the electronic music festival Ultra Hong Kong with Steve Aoki, Marshmello and Alesso headlining to the annual Tai Hang fire dragon dance, K-pop concerts and auctions: there are tons of happenings in the city and its neighbouring areas this month. 1. Monsta X’s I.M: ‘Off The Beat’ world tour
When: September 2, 2024
Where: Broadway Theater, Avenida Marginal Flor de Lotus, Cotai, Macau
What: Monsta X’s rapper and vocalist I.M. starts his journey as a solo artist with a world tour that will pass by Macau for one night. He will perform his third EP Off The Beat (2024).

2. Super Junior: ‘Super Show Spin-Off: Halftime’ Asia Tour
When: September 6-7
Where: AsiaWorld-Expo, 1 Airport Expo Boulevard, Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong
What: Another much-anticipated K-pop concert: the now iconic members of Super Junior are coming to Hong Kong during the K-pop band’s Asia Tour. Catch them on either September 6 or 7—or both, for super-fans.
3. Wild Lotus Hong Kong
When: September 7, 2024
Where: G.I.G, Ovolo Southside, 64 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen
What: Mihn Club and FuFu present the first edition of Wild Lotus, a daytime nomadic event series featuring eclectic music that will take place in emblematic locations in Hong Kong. This month, Japanese DJs Soichi Terada and Chida, as well as local talents Chingyi and the Fader crew.
4. Offline friends at Eaton HK
When: September 7, 2024
Where: Music Room, 4F, Eaton HK, 380 Nathan Road, Jordan
What: In an era where everybody is glued to their phone, Eaton suggests going “back to the simplest” and presenting Offline Friends. This event will invite participants to put down their phones to talk, draw, read, drink, play, meet new people—it’s that simple.

What: A new school year has started, and some of your favourite Hong Kong stars have decided to celebrate it. Rapper JB, and singers ByeJack, K.ming and Lag Chun will be joined by DJ Lilium, Fungmade and Robert for an evening of fun at the Upper Stage, D2 Place One.
6. Bruno Major Asia Tour
When: September 8, 2024
Where: Kitty Woo Stadium, Tung Po, 2 Tsat Po Street, Sun Po Kong
What: Known for his emotive, romantic songs and collaborations with pop singers such as Finneas, British singer-songwriter Bruno Major will be back for a one-night-only Hong Kong concert in September. The show comes with a pre-show Q&A session and a soundcheck performance, open to concert goers at an additional cost.

7. Retro Moon Show
When: September 13-19, 2024
Where: Kwun Tong Promenade, Kwun Tong, Hong Kong
What: This Mid-Autumn Festival, Kwun Tong Promenade’s Vessel will join hands with Carnaby Fair to present a large-scale lantern exhibition that merges the traditions and subcultures of Hong Kong. The event will feature creative lantern installations collaborating with senior citizens and three renowned local artists: Siukins, Keith Lam (Peck), and Nick Tsao.
8. Ultra Hong Kong
When: September 14, 2024
Where: Central harbourfront event space, Central, Hong Kong
What: Ultra Hong Kong is coming to Hong Kong, bringing to the city some of the hottest DJs in the world including Steve Aoki, Marshmello and Alesso. Prepare yourself to dance throughout the night, surrounded by neons and good vibes.
9. Elijah Asia Tour
When: September 14, 2024
Where: Eaton HK, 380 Nathan Road, Jordan, Hong Kong
What: London-based DJ and producer Elijah is bringing his innovative vision and signature Yellow Squares project to Hong Kong on September 14. Elijah’s sessions will explore sustainable creativity and community-building in today’s digital world. After the lectures, Elijah will hit the decks and transform Eaton HK with his bold soundscapes.
10. ‘Legends in Motion’ auction by Julien’s
When: September 14-27
Where: Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Admiralty, Hong Kong
What: Julien’s will hold ‘Legends in Motion’ this month in Hong Kong, its very first auction in the city. It will feature a wide range of star-stubbed artefacts, including items owned by Bruce Lee, BTS, Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a look at these precious lots in one go.
11. Tai Hang fire dragon dance
When: September 16-18, 2024
Where: Tai Hang, Causeway Bay
What: The fire dragon is about to take flight. For the Mid-Autumn Festival, the streets of Tai Hang will once again play host to the neighbourhood’s famous Dragon Dance. Come out early to get a good spot.
12. Olivia Rodrigo: Guts
When: September 24, 2024
Where: AsiaWorld-Expo, 1 Airport Expo Boulevard, Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong
What: Grammy-winning American singer-songwriter and actress Olivia Rodrigo will make her Hong Kong concert debut as part of her Guts world tour, which is her first arena tour. It supports her second studio album Guts, which topped American record chart Billboard 200 at its debut and earned six Grammy nominations.
