The second edition of HKT x WestK PopFest, which is West Kowloon Cultural District’s flagship pop music festival, will return from October 31 to November 3, 2024 across a number of West Kowloon venues.
As well as Canto-pop stars including Mirror’s Anson Lo and Stanley Yau, girl group Collar, Jeffrey Ngai and Lyman Heung, this year will see an international line-up such as Japanese musicians Hikari Mitsushima and Mondo Grosso, Singaporean singer Yan Ting, Taiwanese singer Shou, Korean R&B singer-songwriter Colde and R&B singer Jorja Smith, the Brit Awards’ Best British Female Artist in 2019.

Kung Chi-shing, West Kowloon’s head of contemporary performance and performing arts, revealed at the press conference on August 29 that another exciting feature of the PopFest will be Celestial Unboxed, a multimedia work at The Box, Freespace, by Hong Kong independent music producer J1M3. “We want for PopFest to be a space for celebrating Canto-pop and its innovation. Last year, we had a special concert dedicated to Leslie Cheung,” he says. “This year, J1M3 will be working with four local singers—Jamie Cheung, Kendy Suen, Zelos Wong and Zeno Koo—to present pop music, lights and video works that embody astrological elements—earth, fire, water and wind.”

Mirror’s Anson Lo is equally excited about his return to PopFest. “PopFest is one of my most memorable music events to sing at,” he said at the press conference. “In the last couple of years, West Kowloon has given me a lot of good memories, including the time I watched a drone performance with my fans. It will remain as one of my most incredible and cherished memories.”
As well as music performances, HKT x WestK PopFest will also host an outdoor music, dance and beatboxing party, parkour demonstrations and dance battles against the backdrop of Submergence, a light installation created by UK art team Squidsoup at Harbourside Lawn.
Tickets go on sale on September 13, 2024.
