Want to spice up your evening this Halloween? Here’s where you can go

Halloween, while historically an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of summer and the beginning of the dark winter, has been transformed into one of the largest commercialised holidays that celebrates candy and creative costumes. While trick or treating is usually reserved for the little ones, those looking for some thrill can find them all around the Metro. To that end, we at Tatler have compiled a list of Halloween festivities to scratch your itch for scares and fun.

Halloween Party by The Rest is Noise

Events producer and music curator, The Rest is Noise will be throwing its first-ever Halloween party on October 27 at Sari-Sari Cocktails in Makati. For one night only, the speakeasy hidden inside a sari-sari store will host performances by Thailand-based band, Kiki, soloist crwn, OPM band, Munimuni, and duo PLAYERTWO. M1ss Jade So will also be gracing the stage with a drag performance and Chain Messages will serve up some beats to keep the night going.

The first 100 guests who come in costume will get a special Halloween treat from The Rest is Noise and the overall best dressed will win a prize.

Ever wondered what it would be like to run a marathon while in costume? Now you can find out for yourself with the second Pinoy Fitness Mamaw Run—a costume running event that allows anyone and everyone to be their scariest (or silliest) selves while getting your steps in.

Haunt Fest

Celebrate Halloween with Filipino indie music at Haunt Fest—The Old Forest Recordings’ very own costume party at Saguijo. Eleven bands will be present, so there won’t be any shortage of great performances to keep you alive the whole night. Those who come in costume will also be given the chance to win a myriad of prizes—with the grand prize being a brand-new electric guitar.

Masungi Night Tour

Classic Filipino folkloric stories are the best to tell during Halloween but what if you try to experience them yourselves? Take on the tranquillity of nature at the Masungi Georeserve with a nighttime trek. Who knows? You just might find a few mythical creatures lurking in the dark.

Neg’s Halloween Party

Those up north looking to party can visit Mow’s QC on October 31 for live performances by six indie metal and rock bands—a fitting way to spend a spooky evening.

The Disco Express

Want to rock it out to Y.M.C.A. and Dancing Queen? Hop on The Disco Express at Nokal on the 31st for some sublime B2B sets by Inkee Hidalgo and Marie Garcia, Fore and Junoy Manalo, and Manolet Dario and Jason Soong. Dressing up is optional, but definitely encouraged to complete the experience.

After Dark: A Greenbelt Halloween Experience

A mix of family-friendly and horror, Greenbelt After Dark can be described as your pre-game before a night out. Themed around Villain Ville, guests can enjoy five different activities at the Sunken Garden after presenting a receipt from any Greenbelt merchant—no minimum purchase required!

Those who want to take something memorable home can have their picture taken at the Horrorgram photo booth and receive a printed hologram photo. The Dark Reflections attraction hides something sinister that can only be seen through your camera, so make sure to take your pictures there. You could also take a peek into your future with a quick fortune reading at Miss Fortune Teller. For treats instead of tricks, you can visit Dark Delights for yoghurt cups from APT BLK 513 or Pick Your Poison for some cocktails from SULA and La Latina.

There’s another surprise in store for guests, but we’ll keep that a secret for now!
