A series of events meant to spotlight the local art scene, RSVP by Newport World Resorts celebrates multiple niches throughout the year
In an effort to create more third spaces for the local art community to thrive, Newport World Resorts presents RSVP—a string of events that bring music, visual and performing arts, and anything in between to the forefront. So far, RSVP has had two events, the first highlighting Manila’s best DJs at the Sheraton suites followed by a comedy night featuring SPIT Manila at El Calle Food & Music Hall. Many more events are planned for the coming months and all throughout 2025, so stay tuned!
“RSVP is a concept that we came up with to tap in and work with different partners to offer unique experiences and showcase all of the fantastic opportunities that you can find in Newport,” shares David Jorden, Chief Marketing Officer at Newport World Resorts.

With a goal of becoming a melting pot of experiences, cultures and artistic mediums, RSVP dabbles in every niche and community. “We wanted to give an avenue for artists to play around with how they present their art and how they interact with their fans while immersing guests in the different areas of Newport,” says Jorden. RSVP also transcends events, aiming to transform the entire space of Newport World Resorts to feature artwork. “We’re looking to refurbish the retail space so that it gets more updated. Hopefully, soon we’ll have a photography display along the halls of the mall,” he continues.

For their next event, RSVP will be featuring veteran and up-and-coming female tattoo artists in the Philippines—providing a platform for them to showcase their unique art styles following the American traditional and neo-traditional themes. While permanent ink won’t be offered, guests can get henna tattoos to explore designs and really see the talent of each artist.
RSVP’s keen focus on highlighting the arts allows them to never run out of ideas for events. With the end goal of having weekly festivities, they’re given plenty of room to explore other mediums. “There’s plenty of talent out there in Manila and we want to showcase them all… While music is very high on our agenda, we also want to hit other niches like pottery and sculptures,” shares Jorden. Indie music is also something that will frequent the spaces of Newport as Jorden recognises the impact of OPM and wishes to be a part of it. “We see the potential of these artists and are thinking of taking up-and-coming indie groups or singers and take them through the pathway of El Calle, Bar 360, and eventually NPAT [Newport Performing Arts Theatre]. We’d be keen to see these people grow and expand their audience with us,” he continues.
Currently, these events are invite-only—acting as a dry run to see if this is something the public would be interested in. Come February 2025, we can expect these occasions to happen more frequently and be open to anyone. If you’re looking to gain entry to the invite-only events, the best way is to engage with Newport World Resorts through social media.
